The oldest independent jewellery store in Saskatoon, Bateman Jewellers isn’t just a
business; we’re a 65 year family tradition.
In 1945 World
War ll was ending and the public embraced life and family with
renewed vigor. George Bateman returned from the war where he
served as an instrument technician. With
jobs and products being scarce, George Bateman, the true entrepreneur that he was,
opened G.W. Bateman Jewellers in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan. He set the tone for
customer service excellence and continuous improvement. For 47 years they grew a Bateman’s family of
clients with their sincere service, quality of products and ability to change
with the times.
In 1992, the
Bateman’s daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Ken Lorman bought
Bateman
Jewellers from George and Milly. They operated it under the same
loving
standards until a car accident forced Marilyn to retire in 2005.
Long-time
Bateman employee, gemologist and watch technician Cam Kripki and
gemologist, gemstone dealer and friend John Scarfe, teamed
up to purchase Bateman Jewellers and together with family and long-time
friends, continue the Bateman tradition of offering:

· a relaxed and respectful atmosphere
· personal, individualized service
· expertise and information sharing
As well as implementing industry best practices we
continually upgrade our skills and knowledge. All employees take the Jewellery
Education Training System (JETS) program to enhance their expertise and skills.
